Let's honor the cycle of seasons, the end of the year, and the transition from the longest night of the year back towards light. 108 Sun Salutations and the changing of the seasons remind us of the ever-changing flow of life that we are a part of.
108 has long been an auspicious number - there are 108 beads on a mala or japa, 108 marma (pressure) points in the body, 108 nadis (energy channels) connected to the heart, and the average distance of the Sun and the Moon to Earth is 108 times their respective diameter.
A 108 Sun Salutations practice is an act of discipline, commitment, and dedication. The practice typically takes 2.5 hours, and we will break it up into 4 parts. During the break for each section, you will be offered a contemplation question to help you process the year that has passed and move forward with an inspired heart into the New Year. Please feel encouraged to bring your journal. Join the community as we support each other!
Proceeds of this event will go to an elementary school in Peru to help them bring clean drinking water to the kids and build a fence around the school for safety.
